Physio Pilates and Yoga are Suitable for All Ages

Physio Pilates and Yoga are suitable for all ages as it is a low-impact exercise programme carried out on a mat. A few light props may be used in Pilates, such as a theraband, and later, when you’re ready to progress and challenge your core strength, physio balls can be used.

Falls and poor balance are a primary concern for the older population, and studies have shown that Pilates and Yoga can significantly improve static and dynamic balance. By building strength in your abdominals, gluteals, arms and legs, your coordination improves, and you develop a greater sense of body awareness that improves your balance and makes you more stable on your feet. This, in turn, increases your confidence in carrying out daily activities.
